Spay-Neuter League Inc. will not sell or rent any of your personal information. The webmaster does presume, unless you state otherwise, that by contacting us you are interested in receiving or providing assistance with an animal welfare issue. Therefore, unless you indicate a need for strict confidence, you are granting us permission to share your information with other nonprofit organizations which may be considered appropriate for your situation. In order for the growing network of charitable groups to provide the services we do, we often depend on shared information regarding people in need as well as people willing to offer help. Spay-Neuter League Inc. may need to purge information from its system from time to time, and does not promise to keep any information beyond what is required by applicable law or regulation.

Information Designated as Public

As part of our service you may decide to provide information specifically to be shared with other organizations. For example, you may notify us of items or services you are willing to donate which Spay-Neuter League Inc. cannot use. Another example would be your indication of needing items or services which Spay-Neuter League Inc. does not offer. Whenever possible, we share this information within appropriate networks in a good-faith effort to match donors and volunteers with those in need. Organizations with which we network include shelters, rescues, low cost spay-neuter service providers, animal welfare groups, family and children's assistance programs, educational resources, volunteer advocates and activists. It is our sincere pledge to give our best effort to aid those who have a true need for assistance. By working together and sharing our limited resources, we stand a greater chance to meet more of our goals. We will honor any requests for privacy and hope our open policy does not offend.

Information Collection

Because Spay-Neuter League Inc. is completely a volunteer-run nonprofit, a fairly small group of dedicated individuals receive telephone calls, letters, and emails from a large variety of people and groups. The degree of information shared depents upon the volunteer receiving the information and the follow-up that volunteer is able to provide. Because each of us has many responsibilities, different skills, and a variety of contacts, please understand that we may occasionally lose track of which messages have been answered and which still need attention. If you feel your attempt to reach us has failed, try again. The need within our community is far greater than the resources currently available, and volunteers are often easily overwhelmed by the number of urgent pleas for assistance we receive daily.

Promotional Partners

From time to time, Spay-Neuter League Inc. may notify you about an opportunity from one of our promotional partners via our website or emails. While the effort is made to target particular types of users for these messages, you may receive an email directed to the "network" which may seem unrelated to your interests. Examples of past messages include notice of free workshops and training, new laws which affect animal or family welfare, emergency notices from area organizations, and special programs of interest to animal advocates or owners. Notices sent to a large number of general emails have included free grantwriting workshops, rescue dog training classes, special low-cost vaccination clinics, festive events, and a rare plea for temporary foster or other assistance. These messages are sent widely in a good-faith effort to be inclusive rather than exclusive, and no offense is ever intended.
